It’s been awhile! (12/21/21)

Hi all! Aaron Mays here. Wow! It’s been over a year since the last blog post. I’ve been meaning to update you all sooner, but I suppose life has just gotten in the way. First and foremost, however, here’s hoping you all have been staying safe in these troubling times. Just when it felt like we got past the COVID storm, it’s reared its ugly head again. If you haven’t been vaccinated, please try to do so as soon as possible.

I hope everyone is doing well this holiday season! Christmas is coming up soon, so I thought I’d leave a nice present by updating you all on what’s been going on.

Bloodstorm, the second novel in the Pirate Hunter Tempest saga, was released last year in November. Since then, I’m pleased to announce the third novel, titled ‘Shadowfall‘ is complete. It is still in need of proofreading and a cover being drawn, but I hope to release it in the coming months. It is by far the longest of the Pirate Hunter Tempest novels and something I’m really proud of so far. I’ll be cleaning up the first two books of Pirate Hunter Tempest and offering them for free shortly before the release of the third book, so look forward that if you haven’t had a chance to get into the series!

For those waiting on volume 2 of That Time The School Bully Got Reincarnated as a Tsundere, I’m sorry to say that the wait might be a while longer. I know it’s been quite some time since the first volume was published, so again, I apologize to anyone who might’ve been waiting. The person who draws my book covers is busy drawing the cover for Shadowfall, and I don’t want to overwhelm her with trying to draw the Tsundere cover as well. As stated in prior blog posts, the book itself is completed and proofread. I hope to release it sometime after Shadowfall, so keep an eye on that.

The web novel I promised sometime back likely won’t materialize. I had two or three ideas for the project (even posting a potential cover for one of them), but none of them are in a state where I feel very confident in writing them. I also felt I had too many projects going on at once with both Pirate Hunter Tempest and Tsundere. For the time being, I will focus solely on finishing Pirate Hunter Tempest (Shadowfall is the third book. I plan on there being at least four Pirate Hunter Tempest novels). Again, I’m sorry if anyone was waiting on more information about the web novel.

That’s about it for now. I apologize for the lack of updates since last year. I had planned on doing these monthly, but they’ll probably be sporadic like they have been. I’m really not good at keeping a schedule (ugh…).

Book 2 of Pirate Hunter Tempest coming in November!

Hello again, everyone! Aaron Mays here with some exciting news! First and foremost, here’s hoping you, your family, and your friends are keeping safe in these trying times. It’s been awhile since the last blog post, huh?

I am happy to announce that Book 2 of Pirate Hunter Tempest will be released this November! The magical adventure continues this winter, with Charlotte Berry and her fellow Pirate Hunters aiming to stop the Black Crew Barbarossa’s latest machinations! Can they protect both the world and the Tempest Patch a second time around, or are they doomed to face a watery grave?

As a bonus, Book 1 of Pirate Hunter Tempest will be FREE on Amazon from October 21st up to Halloween! Catch up on the start of the magical adventure with the first installment of the series!

What’s next? (5/6/20)

Hello all. Aaron Mays here yet again. It’s been a while since the last update, huh? I know I said I’d update in December, but I honestly didn’t have much of note to state then, so I thought I’d wait until I did. I am alive and well in the midst of this devastating outbreak. Here’s hoping all of you that are reading this are safe and sound.

I am still trying to find covers for the second volumes of Pirate Hunter Tempest and Tsundere, so stay posted on those. I am going back through the first volumes and cleaning them up a tad bit in the meanwhile.

In the meantime, I am pleased to announce I plan on writing a free web novel that will be hosted right here on this site! I’ll have more details on it (hopefully) coming soon. The most I can say right now is that, like Tsundere, it will be written sort of like a Japanese light novel. It will have some ties and allusions to my other stories as little easter eggs for fans, but you won’t have to have read those to follow along. I’m pretty excited about it, so again, stay tuned for more info!

Thanksgiving Update! (11/28/19)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Here’s hoping you’re enjoying your holiday with friends, family, and good eats. I’ll only take part of your day so you can get back to stuffing your faces.

First, some promising news! I am happy to report that both the second volumes of Pirate Hunter Tempest and That Time the School Bully Got Reincarnated as a Tsundere and Became My Love Interest are both complete! I am still looking toward a December/January release for Pirate Hunter Tempest pending getting a cover drawn. Tsundere will go through a fair bit of editing, but I hope to have that out only a couple of months later. Both are a wee bit shorter than the first volumes, but rest assured, I’ve packed as much content as possible in them.

I am also happy to announce a new project that I’m presently working on. I’ll have more details about it soon but I’m hoping it’s the beginning of another hit series! Here’s a small teaser below…

What now? (10/24/19)

Hi all. Aaron here again. I’m back with a quick update. After this, I’d like to make these blog posts a monthly thing where I keep you all clued in on what’s going on with me writing-wise.

The first volume of That Time the School Bully Got Reincarnated as a Tsundere and Became My Love Interest has been out for over a week now. I just wanted to thank everyone again that’s checked it out. It was a labor of love, so I hope you all are enjoying it! If you’re interested in a physical copy of the book, let me know. Right now, it’s only available as an Ebook, but I’m more than willing to have an option for paperback for those that want it.

As for what’s coming next, I’m happy to announce that the second book of Pirate Hunter Tempest is complete! It still has a lot of editing to go through, but I’m hoping to release it around December/January pending getting a cover drawn.

I am currently in the process of writing Volume 2 of Tsundere. The idea is to get that out around March/April of 2020. It’ll probably be a wee bit shorter than Volume 1 but jam-packed with as much humor (and Matt suffering, of course).

Of course, those are the plans. Real life can, and often does, get in the way, so if there are any delays or changes in plan, I’ll be sure to let you guys know.

I’m also thinking about starting up a Patreon to help fund the costs for book covers and editing. If that’s something you’d be interested in helping me with, please let me know. While I do love writing and would gladly do it for free, people out there need to get paid.

A new series is born!

Things flip on their head when Paul, the school bully, suddenly becomes Pauline, the most popular girl on campus! Offering laughs, romance, and a slight parody of the slice-of-life genre, I’m hoping this new series becomes a hit! Is this thing on? (First Post!)

Hiya! Aaron here. If you’ve stumbled upon this site, you’ve either read one of my books, know I’m a writer, or have very curious Google search queries. Regardless, welcome! This is my personal website, and this blog will contain any updates or personal thoughts concerning my writing. This stuff will probably get doubleposted to Goodreads, so make sure to follow me on there too (assuming you’re reading this on WordPress).

So, in terms of writing, I am happy to announce that Pirate Hunter Tempest Book 2 has been completed! It still needs a lot of editing though, and I don’t plan on releasing it until the release of a new series I’ve been working on. The first Volume is nearly complete, and I will have more details on it soon. I’m hoping to release it by the end of this month or the beginning of September. I’m very excited for this series and hope it turns into a smash hit. It’ll especially be appealing to those who are fans of Japanese Light Novels. As for Pirate Hunter Tempest, I’m hoping to get another cover drawn for it, so stay tuned on that.

That’ll be it for my first (and kinda short) post. I’ll be back with an update in due time and hope to update this blog more frequently.
